Winning the FA Premier League championship in 1993 was a personal milestone for Bryan Robson – the conclusion of a 17-year quest. Yet a year later Manchester United had not only successfully defended their title, but had also won the FA Cup. In this book Robson chronicles an extraordinary year.
It starts with the celebrations which followed the 1993 success, but for the first time in his career Robson’s position was threatened by the arrival of a player who was bought to replace him at the club. He describes his frustration at being left out of the side for vital games as the 1993/4 season progressed, his anger at way United’s players and followers were treated in Turkey, his sadness at Sir Matt Busby’s death, and his recall to the team and scoring of a vital goal which helped the club to its twelfth FA Cup Final.
