A Southend fan who wanted to support Chelsea, who also had spells watching Plymouth and a pair of Bristol’s. Not an easy life path, but one which has seen a rich blend of events and emotions that any football fan will relate to. The 92 ground quest starts in 1971 at dilapidated Roots Hall and ends in 2016 at tangerine Bloomfield Road – in between are the trials of being frozen, ecstatic, worried, resigned, cosy, content and expectant. This book is not a series of match reports – it is a journey through the decades of experiences and views telling what it was like to be there.
